Welcome to Pipeline, a surf forecasting app made by an independent developer. By downloading, installing, or using Pipeline, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Short version: use Pipeline at your own risk, surf forecasts are educated guesses not guarantees, subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel them, and we built this app honestly so we expect you to use it honestly.
Pipeline provides forecast information only. Always check local conditions and exercise personal judgment before entering the water.
Pipeline's verdicts (FIRING, DECENT, FLAT) and conditions data are estimates based on third-party oceanographic forecasts and a scoring model. The ocean is unpredictable. Real conditions can and will differ from what Pipeline shows.
Always check the actual surf before you paddle out. Always know your ability. Surfing involves real risks including drowning, injury, and death. Pipeline is a tool to help you decide whether to check it — not a substitute for your own judgment, local knowledge, or basic ocean safety. You are solely responsible for your decisions in and around the water.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pipeline. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. Pipeline is not designed for or directed at children under 13.
Pipeline doesn't require an account. Your saved preferences, spots, and profile live on your device only. You don't need to log in. You don't need to give us your email. We don't have a database of users — there's nothing to hack, leak, or sell, because it doesn't exist.
Pipeline is free to download and use with one saved spot. Pipeline Pro unlocks unlimited saved spots, FIRING alerts, and the morning brief. Pro is offered as:
Prices are in U.S. Dollars and may vary by region. All purchases are processed through your Apple ID and the Apple App Store. Pipeline does not directly receive, store, or process your payment information — Apple handles all of that.
Pipeline Pro Monthly and Pipeline Pro Annual are auto-renewable subscriptions. By starting a subscription:
Pipeline Lifetime is a one-time, non-recurring purchase. "Lifetime" means for the lifetime of the Pipeline app — as long as Pipeline exists on the App Store and continues to function, your Lifetime purchase grants Pro access. We commit to keeping Pipeline operational and supporting Lifetime purchasers for at least three (3) years from the date of your purchase.
All purchases — subscriptions, lifetime, or otherwise — are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple, not by Pipeline. To request a refund, contact Apple Support directly: reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves.
If you reinstall Pipeline or use it on a new device with the same Apple ID, you can restore prior purchases by tapping the "Restore Purchases" button in the Profile screen. This calls Apple's StoreKit to verify your prior transactions.
Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Pipeline's source code. Don't try to bypass paywalls or cheat the IAP system — that hurts an indie developer trying to feed her kids. Don't use Pipeline in any way that violates Apple's App Store guidelines or any applicable law.
Pipeline's forecasts use data from Stormglass (stormglass.io) via a Supabase proxy. We don't control the accuracy, availability, or completeness of third-party data. If Stormglass has an outage or returns bad data, Pipeline's forecasts will reflect that.
Pipeline is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or accurate. We don't guarantee that forecasts will match actual conditions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pipeline and its developer are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, or loss of life resulting from surfing decisions made using Pipeline. You assume all risk when entering the ocean.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Pipeline after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you don't agree to the updated terms, stop using the app.
We reserve the right to discontinue Pipeline or any of its features at any time. If we shut down Pipeline entirely, we'll do our best to give existing Lifetime purchasers reasonable notice and, where feasible, a final state in which the app continues to function with cached forecasts.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Pipeline will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina.
